Praying for God to provide for you

There are many promises in God’s Word that He will take care of all our needs. For years He has done so for His children, and never failed one of them. You may have to work to get the provision, but He always makes a way (Psalms 37: 25 – 26). And if you are unable to work due to a legitimate reason, He will provide in miraculous ways as He provided manna for the Israelites during their wilderness years, when they were on their way to Canaan, or as Christ demonstrated during His life ministries (Exodus 16:4ff; The Gospels).

Jesus said, “So I tell you, don’t worry about everyday life – whether you have enough food, drink, and clothes. Doesn’t life consist of more than food and clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are.” Matt 6: 25 – 27

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. If you do this, you will experience God’s wonderful peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4: 6 – 7

“Day by day the LORD takes care of the innocent, and they will receive a reward that lasts forever. They will survive through hard times; even in famine they will have more than enough.” Psalm 37:18

Example of a prayer that an adult can pray:
“Father, thank you that you are the Great Provider, your resources are unlimited; you give me free rain and free sunshine and free air to breathe. You feed the birds of the air and the animals of the forest. You assured me that I’m far more valuable than all of them. I stand on your promises to take care of your children and I thank you for providing me __________. I also thank you Lord, that before I opened my mouth to pray, you already knew about my need and your answer is on the way, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Example of a prayer that a younger person can pray:
God, thank you that you give free rain and free sunshine to everybody and you feed the birds of the air. You also promised to meet my needs. Thank you for giving me _________ , in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
